Injectables

Injectables

Conveniently located to serve Sussex County and Warren County

There are many different injectables available to help fight the inevitable signs of aging. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and collagen production begins to slow down. Repetitive movements of the facial muscles can also contribute to an older-looking appearance.

While we cannot turn back time, these signs of aging can usually be softened through the use of injectable neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin, along with injectable dermal fillers like Juvederm and Restylane, which help restore the lost volume.

Effective Anti-Aging Products

Injectables are products used by medical professionals to improve the aesthetic appearance of the face. With these treatments, you can fight wrinkles and creases in your skin, give your lips a fuller and smoother appearance, lift your cheekbones, and and restore lost volume in the temples.

While there are many different products on the market, at NJ Aesthetic Surgery we only offer the biodegradable products, which our bodies have the ability to dissolve over time. The fillers that we offer to our patients are based on hyaluronic acid, which is the main component in collagen that naturally exists in our bodies. The beauty of these products is that you do not have to worry about these substances remaining in your body. Since they all use naturally occurring substances, your body will break them down over time. They can also be dissolved by injecting a special enzyme, hyaluronidase, which removes the filler immediately.

Another benefit of getting injectable treatments is that there is no downtime. After the doctor injects the products, you can go back to your regular activities in no time. Patients do not have to take a day off from work for these procedures, making them ideal for busy professionals.

At NJ Aesthetic Surgery, we offer some of the most popular injectables on the market.

Botox

Botox is made from a bacterium known as Clostridium botulinum. It produces the botulinum toxin, a naturally occurring substance that can be used in small quantities to temporarily relax overworked muscles in the area of injection. Since Botox injections temporarily paralyze facial muscles in the treated areas, this results in a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines in the overlying skin.

Botox generally takes effect in 10-14 days and the results wear off in about 3 months. After this, follow-up treatments will be needed to preserve results. Talk to Dr. Rafailov about the frequency of receiving Botox injections as it pertains to your treatment.

While Botox is has been on the market the longest, and has become the archetypal product for cosmetic procedures, several other products such as Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau are available from other manufacturers. These work essentially the same as Botox and do not differ significantly from one another.

Juvederm

Juvederm is composed of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Hyaluronic acid can be found in joint fluids, cartilage, in the eyes, connective tissues, and in the skin. It can increase volume in your cheeks, smooth out severe and moderate facial lines, and add volume to your lips.

Juvederm delivers results almost immediately after receiving an injection, and the results look very natural. The effects of this treatment slowly start to wear off as your body breaks down this substance. Typically, this treatment may last for up to one year.

Restylane

Restylane is similar to Juvederm, since it also uses hyaluronic acid for treating various facial problems. It can enhance your lips, smooths lines around your mouth, increase volume in your cheeks, and reduce folds and wrinkles in your skin. Restylane will only be present in your body for six to twelve months, though in some cases, it can last up to eighteen months.
