After two failed surgeries with general surgeons for a pilonidal cyst and months of pain and immobility, I set up a consult with Dr. Rafailov and I am so grateful for his expertise in performing the cleft lift procedure. Only 4 weeks after the procedure, I felt like I was back to my old self and have since resumed an active lifestyle. I knew immediately that he was the right one. He listened to my weight loss journey and understood what I wanted from surgery. He answered all my questions and I had the surgery in August 2023. His kindness, concern and professionalism were beyond appreciated from the moment we met him in the emergency department at Atlantic Health Hackettstown. He expedited my daughter’s testing and quickly shared the results and next steps. She was very sick with an abdominal access and sepsis. He saved my daughter’s life! He and the team of healthcare professionals that were by her side through this very serious and scary situation were fantastic! After I had children and gained and lost 100 pounds with a pregnancy, it was hard to look in the mirror. I worked so hard to lose all that weight but the extra skin, diastases recti (muscle separation) and multiple hernias. I went to another consultation with another doctor and he offered to do half of what Dr Rafialov did for twice the price and nothing about his demeanor inspired confidence in me. I trusted my gut and went for a second opinion with dr Rafailov. I think there’s something to be said for gut feelings because I immediately knew I was in good hands. Rarely in my life has my money been this well spent. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Every time I look in the mirror I feel it. I highly recommend this doctor and his practice. I have always had a full chin and no matter what I did, my chin and cheeks were always very meaty! Dr. Sam gave me the side profile of my dreams! When our wedding photos came back, the jawline was looking sharp, cheeks were less full, and I felt more confident and beautiful. To this day, I am still seeing results as it has only been about 8 months since my chin lipo and buccal fat removal. He is also funny, cracks jokes during your procedure to make you feel less anxious, makes sure you feel comfortable, and his assistant Laura is so warm! She’s always smiling and remembers even the tiniest details about you, maybe something you mentioned in passing, and she’ll ask you about it months later! I needed emergency abdominal surgery in November 2023 and was the luckiest girl in the world to have Dr. Rafailov as my surgeon. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for him and his surgical team and I am forever grateful. I have dealt with a multitude of doctors throughout the years and there are very few, if any, who compare to Dr. Rafailov. He spoke to me like a human being, listened to my concerns, kept it lighthearted, and had a way of reassuring me I would be just fine without saying the words. Being exceptional at his craft AND having phenomenal bedside manner/people skills sets him aside from any other surgeon I have met. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rafailov to anyone and everyone.
