Frequently Asked Questions

What is the liposuction procedure and how do I know if I am a good candidate?

Liposuction is a procedure to remove excess stubborn fat from under the skin. Liposuction is not a substitute for diet and exercise, and it should not be viewed as weight loss surgery. Patients who are otherwise healthy and would like assistance with removal of the excess and stubborn fat under the skin may benefit from liposuction.

What type of anesthesia will I receive for liposuction?

Depending on the volume of liposuction to be performed and certain patient characteristics, the type of anesthesia may vary from local anesthesia for area such as the neck/under the chin, to a combination of local anesthesia and intravenous sedation with an anesthesiologist for larger volume liposuction, i.e. abdomen, flanks and back.

What can be done about my C-section scar?

It looks like I have a shelf and I am not able to wear certain clothes because of it.
This is a very common problem. Fortunately, in most cases this is a fairly straightforward procedure without significant downtime. If you have this issue and would like to learn more, please make an appointment and the doctor can tell you more about this procedure.

I have lost most of my pregnancy weight, why do I still have a “bulge” when standing?

There is a good chance that women who have born children have a separation of the abdominal muscles. This condition is known as diastasis recti. While this condition is benign, it can be fixed with surgery.
